Jim Wells County, City of Alice, and City of Orange Grove Launch New Be Alert Mass Notification System
Jim Wells County, in partnership with the City of Alice and the City of Orange Grove, is proud to announce the launch of Be Alert, a new, enhanced community mass notification system powered by Everbridge. This modern platform is designed to provide residents with timely, reliable, and customizable alerts to help keep our communities informed, prepared, and safe.
A More Advanced and Personalized Alert System
The Be Alert system replaces the previous notification platform and introduces several new features that allow residents to tailor alerts to their individual needs. Residents who were enrolled in the previous system will have their contact information securely transferred to continue receiving important community notifications. However, all residents are encouraged to create a new account to fully customize their alert preferences and take advantage of the system’s expanded capabilities.

Timely Emergency Notifications Receive critical alerts about severe weather, public safety incidents, evacuations, and other urgent situations affecting your area.
Customized Community Alerts Choose the notifications that matter most to you, including water outages, road closures, garbage service changes, community events, festivals, and more.
Multiple Location Monitoring Add up to five locations (such as home, work, school, daycare, or a loved one’s address) to ensure you receive alerts wherever you and your family spend time.
Quiet Period Controls Residents can set a personalized Quiet Period for non-emergency notifications. The default Quiet Period is 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM, ensuring only urgent alerts are delivered when you are asleep.
Flexible and Easy to Manage Once registered, residents can log into their secure portal at any time to update contact information, modify alert preferences, adjust notification methods, and add additional organizations that use Everbridge.
